This summer Brenda from CityHousing Hamilton told us that they have started food markets in some of their high-rise buildings where their seniors can get fresh fruit and vegetables. The only problem is, many of the seniors don’t know how to cook the vegetables. She asked if we can help, and our Recipes for Seniors group was born! Our student volunteers prepare recipe sheets for people to take with them when they pick up their food, and they create demonstration videos to show at mealtimes in public spaces and on the residents’ own televisions.
