Students actively help to lead many of our programs. Through workshops, leadership team meetings, and individual coaching by our staff, we empower them to facilitate reflection activities and lead volunteer teams in the community. We develop skills and character in:
- Communication
- Listening Skills
- Conflict transformation
- Assertiveness
- Teamwork
- Facilitation
- Social consciousness and responsibility
- Defining personal values and putting them into action
These programs not only produce students who have become more socially aware, they create students who will leave their university career as responsible citizens; leaders who are ready to enter society as compassionate, understanding people enthusiastic in their passion for helping others. (Stephanie, student volunteer)
This experience further motivated me to continue being active in the community. I'm excited about the skills I have gained and how I will use and apply these skills. (McMaster student)
