A seedling newly planted on a forest floor

Walking with students through a forest planted with only one type of tree, I was struck by its quiet barrenness. Without diversity, even the undergrowth struggles to survive. Nature teaches that diversity is essential—not just for beauty, but for life itself. Later that day, as we planted a mix of diverse native species nearby, I was reminded of how intentional actions can help restore balance and create a thriving, interconnected web of life.

The same is true for us. In a world that is increasingly divided, the need for diverse, interconnected communities has never been greater. In Student Open Circles, as we create safe spaces where people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences thrive, we see the life-giving power of diversity.  Students are finding belonging and a place to grow.

In this newsletter, Alina reflects on how Student Open Circles is like a forest, rich with diversity and mutual support, where everyone can grow. Arnica shares her journey of building connections through volunteering, finding belonging and purpose while supporting underserved children.

By fostering meaningful relationships across differences, Student Open Circles is creating a vibrant commUNITY of students and the wider community. Thank you for being part of this important work. Together, we are creating something truly life-giving!
